3. Suitability & Limitations

TBL is designed to support couples in improving communication, navigating common relationship challenges, and fostering deeper understanding. However, it is not a substitute for therapy and does not provide medical, psychological, or crisis intervention services.

TBL is not appropriate in cases where:

  • There is relationship violence, coercion, or a fundamental lack of safety.
  • A partner is experiencing severe emotional distress or mental health concerns requiring professional intervention.
  • Immediate crisis support is needed.
